Little life update

Thursdays have officially turned into my “catch up” days.

Beau going to school has definitely turned my schedule upside down, but I’m not complaining about it. I actually like the structure and routine.

I’m finding that the first half of the week is the busiest part of our week. With school, errands, nap time (Beau is even napping once in a while!), travel time (seriously, this has to be included..), and my work day on Wednesdays, it’s kind of crazy.

But I like knowing what to expect, what comes next and what’s left to do. I’m a planner at heart and I’m “that mom” that keeps a list in her phone, a list on the fridge and everything written down on the calendar.

What can I say, it keeps me sane!

I mean, clearly I still have to get stuff done during the busy times, but Thursdays have turned into my deep clean days. Things that have probably (definitely) been put off throughout the week like washing the bed sheets and cleaning the inside of the microwave (a job I despise doing).

So today, that’s where I’m at. Cleaning, meal prepping, washing and drying, and everything in-between.

But I’m also preparing for tomorrow…

A few months ago I was presented with a very intriguing opportunity.

A sweet friend of mine, Alyssa, contacted me about a make up job (*squeal!*) that I just couldn’t pass up.

We will be doing make up applications on individuals that work at an interior design company out of Calgary. They are releasing a cookbook where all the proceeds will go to charity and they are doing a photo shoot for the release.

The photographer they hired is Alyssa’s brother, which explains how we were all connected.

Being an aesthetician, they asked Alyssa if she would be interested in doing the make up for the photo shoot. Then, she asked if I would join her since there are a lot of applications to do and so little time. When she realized that she would need some help, she said she immediately thought of me, which I found incredibly flattering!

I’m a bit nervous, but I’m more excited than anything. This is a completely new experience even though I’ve been doing make up applications for years. Luckily, these ladies are looking for a natural & fresh look, so if that’s the case, it will be a breeze! I can’t wait to see their set up, meet new people and make them feel pretty. I mean really, what’s better than making someone feel pretty?!

So along with all the other needs that I have to attend to today, I am also washing brushes, gathering products and deciding what on earth I should wear tomorrow, haha!

Wish me luck!

And don’t forget that you can follow me on Instagram @thisbittersweetlifeblog in case I have a chance to snap a few photos tomorrow!
